This is my new old skool school desk!!

It's actually Art.

I bought it for $250 from an exhibition at local street art shop 696.

I don't normally get into art, but this isn't just art, it's furniture, and it's beautiful!

I use it to put all my 'To do' stuff inside and also just to sit on and scribble. It was made by a local artist called Pep. Here's a link to her wicked stuff.

At first I was hesitant.. $250.. what can be worth that much?.. but I wanted it!..

I decided to leave it till Wednesday and if no one had bought it by then I'd get it.
That night I dreamt about it! I knew the desk had to be mine, I called first thing the following morning. *panting* "Helloisthis696?! It's Pablo *gasp* I wenttoyourexhibition! *choke* do you still have that *breath* DESK?!'

'Um.. yes.. the piece is still available'

'It's mine! I'll pay this afternoon! Thank you!'

I think buying things that will stay with you is totally worth it. I'm not just buying art, I'm buying inspiration, supporting a scene and an artist, and keeping a gorgeous and functional item. In two weeks I'll have forgotten about the money but I'll still have an awesome desk!
