Arabs Gone Mad

It is the craziest morning i have ever seen on Sydney road. There has been 2 hours of NON STOP car beeping, there's people are running around on the streets, cars are crashing and the people driving the crashed cars are getting out and hugging each other, there's crowds chanting and waving flags, cops are chasing people, its absolute pandemonium. It has something to do with Turkey everyone is waving the flag around but i cant figure our what it is, its absolute unbridled insanity, theres crowds jumping up and down, chanting, screaming, laughing crying whistling, every single car to go through is beeping its horn like crazy, it seriously sounds like we're in the middle of a war or a riot. its incredible.

The cops have given up chasing and have sealed the street and now theres a huge street party outside and people are pouring in from every road, it's a total arab street party, right out tront of my house, id say theres 300 at the moment with 20 more showing up every minute, their cars are open and pumping tunes and everyone is chanting and jumping, guys its amazing, i just walked out and some guy hugged me and shook me around, he was so happy! hahahaha woooo!!

I'm guessing it has to do with this..

VIENNA, June 20 (Reuters) - Turkey equalised in dramatic style with the last kick of extra time before beating Croatia on penalties after their breathtaking Euro 2008 quarter-final ended 1-1 on Friday.

Turkey, who also reached the semi-finals of the 2002 World Cup, now meet Germany in Basel on Wednesday.

Extra time had finished in heart-stopping fashion after an absorbing encounter with two goals in the last three minutes.

Aha!

I think its really amazing how sport has the power to unify people and create a sense of national pride! I'm totally anti nationalism, but its great when people, all people will just go out on the streets and hug each other and are proud of their country over a game of Soccer! Its such an excellent way to feed this human desire for rivalry and relieve aggression.

Think of all the energy we have actually transmuted by using it for sport as opposed to war..
